Back from Haiti
Look for pics coming soon.
The story is simple. I went to Haiti with a man who has been working with some of the people in Labaleine, Haiti. In this village there is a leader by the name of Richard, he has developed a sustainable community through education and economy. He teaches teachers. there are over 46 teachers and 500 students.
It is his desire to create a vocational school using some of the local industries created, like mechanics, honey, farming, rasing chickens, and growing coffee.
This is where I come into the story. I had been invited down to see the community and talk with 29 coffee growers and community leaders. In our conversation on a Hot Wednesday afternoon, they decided it was time to create a Co-opt and put Haitian coffee back on the American market through the Labaleine coffee region.
Needless to say I was overwhelmed and over joyed.
To be continued…
